Zootopia: Opposites Attract

Before I begin, I just want to comment something about the movie, “Zootopia.”

…

It’s so awesome!! πŸ˜€

I am so glad I listened to the reviews! Sure they said it’s better than “Inside Out,” but the latter Pixar film will always be my utmost favorite. Also, I think I’m in love with the Judy Hopps x Nick Wilde shipping. 🐰❀🐺

As I was watching through the entire film, I noticed that, apart from the kickass humor (ie. that famous sloth DMV scene πŸ˜‚), there are morals within this children’s film. Morals that can help others about life. I know that the main theme of “Zootopia” is to never give up your dreams and always remain tenacious; it’s okay to make mistakes, though it’s never okay to let your mistakes force you to give up your dreams. Not to mention, a subliminal message in regards to prejudice: hence, there was abhorrence between the predators and the prey. Sound familar?

However, the biggest moral I see as a message to me: Trust and Reliance.

Judy, as a (first bunny) cop, nearly took Nick down because he was caught committing fraudulence and scalping Popsicles without a license. Sure what Nick the sly fox did was illegal albeit he suffered from a traumatic experience in regards to predator prejudice when he was a little baby fox. My heart broke when I saw the flashback; it takes me back to my own experience. 😐

Since the beginning, Judy had a hard time relying on Nick because of his actions, even though he was the one with evidence on the missing otter. As they were alone together, their relationship became stronger and closer. Soon, Judy began to feel some sympathy for him and regrets for nearly taking him in at the beginning.

…

Just seeing this moment made me realize something. Just because you dislike someone at first for their wrong actions, doesn’t mean they are what you think they are. At certain times, you just have to give that someone a chance in order to know the real them. And…

This is something I should’ve done before.

I’ve made a ton of mistakes in the past. I’ve been abused and bullied throughout my entire life. I had friends who abruptly became my enemies. My last ex-boyfriend left me for someone else behind my fucking back. All of these became the origin of my lack of trust and reliance on people. All of the shit I experienced made me the reason why I am a loner in the real world.

I always assume that everyone around me are assholes because of the way I was beaten, tormented and abandoned in the past. I instantly judge others with their actions and the way they talk. I hated people because they do tons of illegal shit and they are uneducated and illiterate. As for me, I see myself as completely opposite from them.
Suddenly… I realize I was wrong.

There are times that opposites can get along. I may be a rational person but there is a possibility that the irrational person I was forced to interact can be rational as well. Who knows? Maybe that bad person can be just as good as me. All it takes is to interact with him as long as I want or need to, just like Judy and Nick.

If I ever had to peform something really imperative and the help I can get is from the one whom I assume is an undesirable… I might as well rely on him and never let my judgment get the best of me.

Of course, you just have to look on the turned tables. The person you instantly trust at first is not whom you expect at all. You have to be meticulous with whom you interact with. That good person is hiding a devious personality and soon, the friend becomes your enemy. That has happened to me a lot. Everyone can be erroneous when it comes to knowing who is really who.

What I should’ve done:

Give people whom I impetuously hated at first another chance.

When they said “Trust me,” I might as well give it a shot no matter how irrational it seems to be.

When someone, who is polar opposite of me, wants to interact with me, it’s better to do so. I may never know.

There is never a reason to hate.

I can never stay mad at certain disputes I’ve had. People can change no matter what. It’s all part of growing up and moving on.

Overall, hate can turn to love. Bad can turn to good. Antagonism can turn to friendship. Vice versa to it all. Therefore, opposites can attract to one another. All it takes is reliance.

Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Being erroneous is what makes us find the accuracy of life.

There’s no such thing as perfection. πŸ’
