The Cross Down the Road

Please, forgive me, for I have sinned,
For I ran the cross down the road.
As the flash flood of crimson appeared,
I have nearly lost a heart.

Sincere apologies,
I know what I’ve done was wrong.
I couldn’t fight the urge,
I am not strong enough.

I lost my salvation and my grace;
The demons are too aggressive,
For they are too invulnerable to be defeated,
And thus, the cross ran down the road.

I lied on the ground, watching myself fade;
The pulse and breath were about to be gone.
But then you came along, and aid me to life,
Even though I wanted to reach to Death.

I know what you perceived is what you despised,
But will you still forgive me?
What if I run it across the street several times?
Will you despise me even more?

I had to run it across, it’s the only way for me
To battle away the demons;
At least it’s barely fatal.
It’s the same to you, isn’t it?

Please, forgive me for all my sins,
For bringing myself near death.
If you do, I pray to you
For strength, protection, and salvation.

If I ever run the cross down the road again,
And if you don’t accept my sincere apologies,
May the demons return to me…
Until Death arrives.
