How have you adapted to the changes brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic?
I have adapted to the alterations brought on by COVID.
That is working from home and having phone sessions with my therapist and Zoom sessions with my psychiatrist.
I felt the accommodations and conveniences to all these.
Working from home meant that I don’t have to worry about taking public transportations since I chose not to drive (for both anxiety and environmental reasons). Ever since I started freelance writing and writing novels, I never have to worry about being pressured by employers and co-workers. Being self-employed have its benefits when it comes to having mental health issues, which means I don’t have to worry about being yelled at to create PTSD triggers and there is no communicating with people whom I never liked in the work field. Working from home is the best employment for myself.
Ever since I got informed about having therapy phone sessions, I was then given the option to make phone sessions permanently without having to go to the clinic. I live 45 minutes away from my therapy clinic, which is a pain in the ass when it comes to traffic by Uber and wasting money for every bi-weekly half hour sessions in person. I hate taking trains and buses because they can be full of deviant people committing fare evasion and attacking other passengers. Plus, trains and buses take so long to get to my destination, which is very stressful for me.
Now that phone and Zoom sessions became ubiquitous in most therapy clinics ever since COVID came, I don’t have to worry about going all the way to the clinic for both therapy and psychiatry sessions anymore; I can now conveniently use my phone and laptop for therapy.
COVID made me adapt to new changes mainly by convenience and mental health reasons. I can work and have sessions by technology now and stay home for most of the time without stress and apprehension.
I became mentally healthy ever since then. I am just elated for these alterations ever since the pandemic; the only thing I need to worry about as of now is if COVID will permanently cease.
